We did our presentation and the subject was E-BUSINESS.

firstly my groupemates , Ian and Elden , were wonderful and very professionnal . we didn't have problem to communicate and share our ideas , it was really great! Elden was a little bit stressed as he said in his "review" but he did it very well i think , very clear introduction and he didn't miss any main ideas of this topic! Also Ian did with me the body of the presentation , his ppt slides were clear and he explained it with easy words , as he said he had a little mistake in discussion , but i think it doesn't matter , our classemates made him confused about what i wrote in the board, but anyway he did his part very well i think! . well done guys!

Secondly , i had a problem with choosing the main ideas that i should put in my slides because time is limited . finally i choosed E-commerce to explain how e-business works because it's easy to understand and everyone use it in his daily life! I was always trying to connect our parts .

However , i've never studied this subject before , except a project 2 years ago and it was in IT courses so it's really different! so i tried to find the maximum of informations i can get and to look for which questions our classmates can ask in the end of our presentation and find answers , to be ready the day of the presentation to answer for all questions we will get ...

Anyway i think we did our presentation very well and thanks to Ian and Elden !! they were really friendly and nice to work with them! and thanks to Jennifer too , when she tried to let our classmates more relaxed about their way of asking questions :)

Last friday I got my presentation in the class. I think our group did a good job, but for myself that i also have many problems to do this job. When I stood in the front of the class I feel very nevours and I can't remeber what I recited. I need to relax next time. And for my group I think we prepareto do this process of presentation is very well. We sellect a good topic about the communication and find some accurate informations about the E business. The structure of our presentation i think is very clearly and easy to follow.Ian and ahmed really do a good job they have enough confidence to do their presentation. This Friday we did the presentation.I think all of our three did well during the presentation.So thanks Ahmed and Elden.Thank you two.
We worked hard for our first group presentation,and we also very enjoyed the experience of the chance.We three all contributed in our presentation,and then we finished the presentation succeed.
Then I will talk about our presentation.
First,I was a bit nervous during the presentation.Although I pretended to be very relax.There are a lot of information i didn't know it before.So I practiced very hard,try to remember all of the information of our presentation.
After Elden did it,I think the time was not enough for us to finish.So I made my part to some simple sentences and to give time to Ahmed to explain the way how the e-business works.I think we should let everyone know that but not the detailed types of the e-business.
Second,I made mistake during the presentation discussion.After the classmates told me there were some 'mistake' on the board.I didn't think a lot , one is that I was so nervous and hope our presentation can finish succeed,and one is I absolutely didn't know the e-business very clearly before.It was my error.
Finally,thanks to my partners,thank Ahmed and Elden.Thank to my classmates and Jennifer's listening.We will do better the next time.

I'm really sorry , i forgot it!

Absolutely, it's a very succesful presentation,clear structure, good examples, useful video and resource.
Iris and Barry are strongly in communicating with audience, and confidence which i should learn from them.when i stand in the front of room,and face to so many people that makes me feel nervous and uncomfortable lead me only read the text and no ideas to make a resonance.But it's just a beginning, i will be more confidence in the next time,and do it as well as i can.

Presentation Review---Iris

Thanks to my partner. They are really lovely boys. I was very happy work with them.

I am not did very good in the presentation , at that time , i was tired , when i was speaking , there are some mistakes.

The entirety of the ppt is ok, but there are still some mistakes, i should take charge of that. Pay more attention on spelling.Next time, i wanna the ppt could be
more professional. Overall , the structure is clear.

I wanna to attract the audiences, so maybe i did good in the greeting part. This is the etiquette . If you pay attention on it , you will did better.

Another hand is that maybe a little in haste .Timetable is very important , that was why we have time manager on the debate. There are some mistakes, next time , maybe more experience.

I should practice more , next time , i will try my best to do the presentation.

Time was very fast, i was stay here for one month and a half.
First of all , i like here. I like the city and the school.

When comes to talk about study , indeed , i have progress in the past one month.
I particiated in class discussion, and share with classmates.
I enjoy the class.

The thing is that i still didnot have very clear plan on my study,so sometimes i feel coufuse. That why a little lazy outside the class.

I think i should more positive outside the class. As i say in the class , Action is the power, but i didn't do what i said. what a pity !

The most progress was that i can wind up when i give a very short presentation.
I learnt a lot in our class.The teacher and classmates are very friendly.
However i should to do more practice outside the class.

Next , i will to make up a very clear plan on study , and follow that.

Bad news is essential to keep us update, we can know via TV, newspapers etc... If some tragedies happen in the entire world!! Also, we can stand together with them...

However , I think that good news are more essential than bad news , because the good ones make us happier and motivate us to be better at work ,university etc... And in life in general!

Some good news should be more shown on TV to help depressed people to become less depressed, change their mind and forget their daily problems...

Also I think in all TV channels, they have to make a weekly TV show about only good news around the world!!

So, we should manage both of them but give priority to the good news on Medias...

Learner Diary 6- Nero

During these 6 weeks study, many academic skills have been learnt, such as note-taking, summary and paraphrase. At the beginning of studying these skills, I felt it is really difficult. Sometimes I can not find the mean idea, because there are plenty of information in the article. I did lots of practices, so it is better. Of course not good enough. lots of practices should been done. This is a cumulative process. Otherwise, the skills of my presentation are getting better and better. Initially, I was quite nervous. When I stood in the front of classroom, I usually forgot what I have prepared for a long time. But now, I can show a presentation with PowerPoint, no paper, no sentences. That means I can keep more eye-contacts with audiences. But I still have many problems. I need to do more practices to solve them.

In the class, I try to participate more and more. To show own opinion on different questions and topics. To share ideas with classmates. But sometimes, it is too many vocabularies which I do not know to show my opinions clearly. And the pronuciation is a big problem too. These are what I must work hard on . Outside class, I speak to my flatmates very often. It is a good way to practise my speaking and listening. Otherwise, when I am on the bus, I usually listen the listening materials. I know the most difficult thing is not to do one thing, but to continue it. So I will continue to do them to improve my English.

First of all, I would like to say that I am happy to be in Sussex University. I feel appreciated by my classmates. I would like to thank Jennifer because she’s always helping us and she is very pedagogic.

I think that I have progressed in English especially my vocabulary. Indeed, at the beginning of the term, mine was really poor and now it’s starts to get better. I read articles in English and I often use the dictionary so I learned a lot of words that I’ve never heard before. My pronunciation improved because I try to participate as I can in class.

To continue to improve my level, I had to work hard at home, try to read more books (I’m starting Nelson Mandela’s) watch more movies in English (with subtitles).

I think that participate in class is the main key to improve my level .

Also, I can improve it outside the classroom with my housemates. They are really nice and I talk with them every night at home and we often do some activities together like seeing movies or cooking.

I also think that I can get better thanks to my housemates , they are native speakers and it's easier for me to improve my english accent . They are friendly and we occasionally do some activities outside the campus like playing soccer or going to a restaurant.

After telling you how I improved my English, I would like to share with you some pictures of Sussex University and Brighton in general. In that sense, through study with companions an partners, we can forster the best sense of commitment, responsibility and duty fufillment. In the last decades, advances in contemporary media and technology have made it possible for community to obtain vary information than in the past. Yet when it comes to the influence and impression of the better or worse news for the human beings' life , some people, including certain socialists, say that the reaction of men after they got news is as important as news itself, and that mankind should not be forced to accept all aspects of information when the greater pressures of life have become unbearable.
By and large,"life is too shot tobe little." Often people allow themselves to be upset by passive news from media which deserve tolerance and ignorance. Although, just as you said bad news may possibly present a dark side of society. In that sense, the best attitude for them could be weigh the pros and cons of the issues,in addition, to devote people's short life to worthwhile actions and feelings, to great thoughts, real affections and enduring undertakings.
In the final analysis, it is publicly known that the whole society, government and community should take action or responsibility on spending information. Hence, whenever good or bad news all could make people to lead a more mobile and dynamic lifestyle in such fast tampo.

After more than a month of study, I think I made the greatest progress in oral English, because it was difficult for me to speak a complete sentence when I came here, especially, I was always quite nervous. But now I can relatively clearly express my ideas with each other and have less nervousness. In addition, there was the experience of the first time about presentation and debate in English, which improved not only speaking but also writing and gave me a different feeling in study. The most useful things here are note-taking and summary. Those told me the importance of prevention of plagiarism, moreover, and are beneficial to my future to further study. However, no matter which aspect of learning English, practice is the most important for me both inside and outside of the classroom. I believe language learning is a process of changing and influencing unobtrusively and imperceptibly.

In classroom, I had as much as possible to take part in each activity and followed the teachers. It was my pleasure to communicate with classmates, and I enjoyed the warm atmosphere of discussion and listening to the others’ views. But the low degree of fulfillment is my pivotal drawback. Day by day, it was hard to do the plan on time and then some work was delayed or not done. So I have to do efforts to correct this bad habit.

Anything too much is bad, like an old saying, “every coin has two sides.” Whether good or bad news, we should control and, ultimately, strike a balance.

Now we do be getting accustomed to bad news. You can see that there were a lot of pessimistic indexes, such as the rate of unemployment, reported in newspaper and on TV due to the sluggish economy. That contributes to less confidence for the future in the society. People are all disappointed and depressed. Moreover, we are also becoming indifferent to death because of continuous wars in the world. Everyday people could listen and watch the number of dead population. In such a sensitive time, the media should give us some hopefulness to re-build the confidence.

Over-optimism, however, is bound to the tragedy. Just before this depression, both of excessive credit expansion and over-investment were the result of the booming economy and many bullish announcements filled with in the market. Then when Job's news burst upon, plenty of enterprises went bankrupt, especially, some of which were ever famous. Some reports even said that a few of extreme people committed suicide.

In short, the government has to guide and control the mass media to report in the right way. Appropriate incentives and proper warnings are should be done in different conditions.

During first half-term, I like every other classmate trained the basic skills (Listen, speaking, reading, and writing). The most experience for me, every student should more active to participate in discussion and communication with our tutor the whole class. It is totally different that the style of course teaching comparing with my country. There exists some drawbacks in listening and speaking within a month, that is to say, the progress is quite limited (L). ’Silence is golden’ is unfit for self-improvement study skills. To keep an open mind, bravely, talk and talk constantly. I need encourage myself to overcome the obstacles in mind following next half-term.

For the period of month-course study, I gradually accustomed myself to taking part in group discussion more or less. The most difficult and tough problems is how to illustrate your ideas to other members clearly and accurately and make them understood easily. It raised a higher requirement to your Linguistic Competence and enough vocabulary. Moreover, how to evaluate peer’s opinion objectively is good chance to cultivating your critical thinking. Only study skills in class are inadequate, I should spend more time outside of class. Considering individual condition, I need read some relative material or textbooks; practicing listening; to communicate with local citizens properly and more thinking.

Personally, it is a hard work; but if there is a direct-path to study well, who won’t prefer?

Through the half-term of course, I learned many useful skills, about how to do a presentation, Note-taking, looking for keywords. However, I also think that some of these deficiencies in study. First, my vocabulary is poor so that I can not clear, accurate to express my ideas. How to improve it, I got some suggestion from good students what not only to remember a new word, but also to use it. So, I'm going to use the new words make sentences and as possible as use it in daily life, I hope it will improve my vocabulary. Second, Pronunciation is another problem for me. A lot of words pronunciation is not accurate (e.g. stress, linked sounds). I think I can through the following methods to improve it:
--Listen and repeat from model pronunciation
--Recording my own pronunciation, listen and correct mistakes
--Review phonetic symbol

For participation this is my weakness. In the classroom, I didn't have an active participation the discussions and show me ideas. Not is I am not want to participation, it maybe made by character, I’m a quiet man. But, I know the importance of participation, I try to improve it. Inside, I should pay attention during the discussion, and share my point of view, do not fear mistakes. And, I want as possible as to communicate in English with others. Outside of class, conversations with local people is a good choice, it is can practice my speaking. While, I also can to learning by watch movies, listening English songs.

In the past four weeks, I don't know whether my English have progress, but I know what I should go to change.

First,I should change my time management. I always very tired in this month. the problem is where I live far away from school, I must be change threes times bus . When I got home, I was very tired. I have no time to review. Fortunately, I now have moved to the university. I believe I will change my time management, I will have enough energy to study.

Second, I should actively participate in the classroom. In the past month, I didn't enthusiastically participate in class discussions, I always have a lot of ideas in mind, but not very good expression. Moreover , because sometimes I don't understand the teacher's question.So from now, watch how other people participate .Notice the language and the body language they use .And believe in myself! My opinions are as important and interesting as anybody else!

In the past time, I know that the disparity from other classmates. In the class, I need to do more Participation in discussion and try my best to say more words. After all, it is important to everyone to do that. On the other hand, I think i need to do more work in learning new vocabulary because my words are limitedly. Outside the class, I found a good way to improve my listening skills that was listening the BBC online which had the translation or interpretation. This way is not only improve my listening skills and as well to expand my vocabularies. I want to make friends with the native person that I will try. Furthermore I found that the writing is very important skills for the student. I think I need to do some practice in writing and increase the quality of writing and use the accurate grammar.

In today's society, television is a major media tool that can quickly transmit news in the crowd. But, more bad news is full of TV, such as rumors of affairs for stars, the government official corrupt practice, etc. it's affecting people's normal life, mood, and even so personal privacy.

actually, sometimes when you ask us to discuss theme i understand what do you want but my classmates makes my thoughts confused. i'm sure because i didn't understand them and i've never asked them to repeat it that's makes me quiet and let them discuss without my participation. indeed, is difficult to follow them maybe because different pronunciation between us, i just understand ahmad. moreover, i totally agree with barry about what he said, we should know what we will be the subject for the next day to try to study it at home before we come to class that's makes easy to understand and discuss it.

i think writing skill isn't good because i'm thinking in arabic and translate to english that is bad way what i've ever done. i tried to improve it but i couldn't avoid the problem. i know i must study seriously at home to store and save new vocabulary but i didn't do i waste my time doing nothing.

The news should be balanced between good and bad that is what i think because it is important in our life to know what happen around us. some people don't like to listen or show bad news which make them more depressed . On the contrary, the good news make them feel more happier that is make them to try to do the best things in their life.

One the other hand, some people prefer to know both good and bad news. good is what i said before. Whereas, bad news sometimes important for people to know it, to take caution and to know what happend around them whether good or bad. I think it's more better to reports good news in TV or media.Today media are strong influence people's life,if media shows much more good news will make a positive impression to people,and lead people to have a positive attitude.It's universal truth children are influenced by violence from TV,why we don't change it and to reports the better things.For the economic depression,most people are understress,so we reports more good news to make people happy,confidence,and release the stress.On the other hand,bad news always appear in the TV,will make people more horrible and sad,like the Amercian disaster films ---2012,arouse a wide panic. In conclusion, media should reports more good news for people to establish a mental health.

Learn diary 6 -----------Anson

In the past time, I have not remembered the vocabulary deliberately. I always lack on it,sometimes seen the words, I feel not strange but cannot remember the meaning accurately,
definately,writing skills always the most difficult for me, I am lost in finding the way to improve it. Obsolutely, I do the reading and listening (BBC news, English films) more than others,I really enjoyed it, however it's hard to understand what local people said sometimes,because the pronunciation I haven't adapt complete.But in the past time, I have more time in practice peaking,e.g. communicating with others, presentation,supply more chance to speak, I find it more easy accurate to pronounce .
In the rest of this term,I need more help in writing and listening.I will make a plan organize time equal to four parts,specifically in writing,I will continue to read books , watch films which help me significantly. Obviously,I'm boring in remenber vocabulary,I cannot find a efficient way to it.

Learn Diary 6---Vivien

In the past month, I feel that my English have not good progress.Because I think I did not to arrangement the time ,so I wasted too much time,and do not spend enough time to learn English.Sometimes,I feel some sentences and grammer is not very clear to me,and my vocabulary insufficient.So I resisted to read more articles, to remember more new words every day,to improve my reading ability.

I feel that I should seriously listen in class,and interact with othersas much as possible to communicate with others in English.So that English will be improved quickly.I also reading some newspapers,listening English songs ,as well as watching movies.I think such a way that not only feel boring,but also have some knowledge faster.Of course, I think that shopping is also a way to practice English, which not only exercise the courage, but also in practice speaking.

Over the next time, I will be good to arrange a time to spend more time trying to learn English, and do my best.

I personally think that the good news and bad news are equally important,because the good news can encourage people to get the full of hope of the society,and it can make people more motivation for life.Meanwhile,the bad news should be discussed on TV or in he media,because of the bad news you can allow people to see this society,so I think the good news and bad news should be balanced.

Unfortunately, I feel that there is nothing good news on TV but bad news. Let me feel that we adapt it day by day. The newspaper and the TV show always tells us the bad news to attract our attention. I supposed as much good news on TV as better , it would be bring positive thinking to people as well as helping people feel the world is fantastic not just the side of dark.

Learner Diary 6- Barry

I think I have learned the academic skill in the four part. I feel quite beneficial for me. I still have to practise everyday because there some sentence and vocabulary in my mind but not clearly. I feel I do not have progressed enough , I will try my best to preview the lessons in the following days.

What more , I would like to know the vocabulary and topic before the lesson because sometimes I have no idea about topic and no vocabulary support me to participate and speaking . It is a ashamed . In the other hand , I listen the music and watch movies and do some reading to improve my English outside of class .It is quite good for myself , because I prefer learning with happy.

I feel have long way to go to learn English , the four part of English I do not have the ability which let me have confidence to say I am good at this . A little confused what level am I now.

Presentation review.----Barry

First of all I am glad to have the good partner to work with me .They are excellent and try to make the presentation perfect. It is my pleasure to work with them.

Seconly I feel I did not do perfect yesterday , there are some flaw and drawback.

Thirdly , I should try to make the presentation more interesting and let everybody join us .On the other hand , it is not polite to interrupt conversation when somebody was talking . I will be careful and arrange the good time for classmate to have more time to participate.

Whatever I will try my best next time. I think the as more practice as more chance to make it perfect.

Presentation Review

Nero and I did a presentation last Friday.Our topic is Death Penalty.Before the presentation,we find a lot of information, and we discussed for a long time before we finally decided to look like the structure to complete the presentation. In this presentation, I feel a bit nervous ,resulting I forget some information. At the same time, I feel that the content of our PPT is not enough rich if we can add some other elements may make a more perfect PPT. Of course, I also feel that we should be prepared in advance and should not begin before the hastily prepared, after all, the success belongs to those who are prepared. So if I have the next opportunity,I will certainly be more fully prepared, I believe that I can do better.

In my opinion, news happens every day, different angle from people. Good news can inspire people.The bad news taking necessary precautions to people.So good news and bad news are essential.We need to balance the scope of news.

presentation review- Nero

Vivien and I did the presentation which was about Capital Punishment(Society)last Friday. As we know Capital Punishment is a quite serious topic. So we had lots of discussion, and did plenty of research. I think that to share ideas with your group is very important. This is the first time we do the PowerPoint. Originally, we wanted to put some sounds, videos and other things in it, to make it more interesting and attractive. But these days all of us are quite busy.So we do not have enough time to learn it. Our PowerPoint is simple, simple but clear:P
From the presentation, I found some problems which I must solve.Firstly, When I spoke, i had a little nervous.Some sentence i can not speak fluenty. So someone could not understand me . Secondly, we forgot to write the reference at the end of our powerpoint. It is a big problem. Everyone should pay more attention on it. And i also learn many things from the presentation. For exanple, I made great effort to keep eye-contact. It is better than before. It is a nice experience. Anyway, there are lots of skill i need to improve. i will do more practice on it.

Summary:

This article discusses online dating and its potential as a tool to find love. Statistics have not proven the success of online dating, but it has clearly worked for some people. Furthermore, there is the potential for the person you meet online to already be married, as it has become a tool for infidelity. While there are drawbacks to online dating, it can help singletons find love. For those with limited social circles or professions, it can be very useful. It can also help to unite minorities looking for people similar to themselves, through sites such as Jdate.com that are used for Jews to meet someone of the same ethnicity. While there is a rise in the level of divorce in the USA, the connection to online dating remains to be seen. happy new chinese year!!

Hey guys

happy new year and thanks a lot for the lunch today! it was the first time that i celebrate this day ( i don't know for Nouf and Jennifer ? :) )
anyway it was really nice and i wish you a very happy year with all love , peace , luck , health , sucess etc... that you deserve !!

However i want to let you know about the centre aboard meeting last thursday :

1. it's impossible to change the timetable because there is no free classrooms... hope next term will be better :)
2. the score to success to master , procedures in the end of the pre-master , specific plan in the 3 terms , exams etc... : i'm going to send a mail to Jo as she asked me to do and she will answer in those questions and i'll let you know soon ...
   
3. "graduation" party in june and a final party in october ...
4. you can extend your visa here before your holidays , the letter visa will be ready in the first week of september!

if you have more questions don't hesitate to send it to me in my e-mail ( ao202@sussex.ac.uk ) and i'll ask Jo or Joanna about them...

Presentation Review—Walter

As to the presentation on the topic of technology last Friday, Alex and I have made a deliberative decision and prepared for it before. We made the statement to the class on the mainly.

There exits some drawbacks and problems I should pay attention in future after finishing the presentation. I found it quite difficult to state the content at the beginning of preparing the material. Usually, the theme on technology is dull and boring. In order to appeal students ‘eyes on it, we mixed pictures and a little words together as much as possible. Through the graph illustration, everyone can understand easily the concept & content what we talked hopefully. It is not enough only relying on photos; we add some modules in seminar (asking quest, discussion, and debate) so as to lead the whole class to participate in the topic. To be delighted, the class took active part in the discussion basically.

However, our performance exposed some shortages. The key notions of VC (vehicle car) could not explain clearer and more detail. I forgot the application for body language or eye contact during the stating. We should do more practice owing to current limited level.
