Nowadays environment is being increasingly important for personal development, especially in early time. Meanwhile, it has evoked a fierce controversy relating to whether nurture affects early human development or not. In my opinion, both nurture and nature affects it, but the nurture more strongly.
Scientists convinced that nature cannot be changed. It definitely belongs to part of our character, such as DNA and genes which determine our sex, the colour of our skin and eyes. We even inherit IQ and familial diseases from parents, as well as personality.
However, there are many aspects in nurture, every one plays a crucial role in our life; it holds such a view based on the following reasons. To begin with, it goes beyond any doubt that education is crucial for everyone. The family is the starting point that parents are your first teachers from whom you know the world. For example, there pointed that practice or extra stimulation by parents could strengthen the appearance of active behaviours to certain extent from recent studies. Moreover, most of people believe that the earlier you learn, the cleverer you are. Children could improve themselves more than others by hardwork. The second is our health, which depends on the stage of growth. A balanced diet together with physical exercise must enhance our physique. For instant, there was a report about a boy who was diagnosed with congenital heart disease and could not live over 15 years, but he did persist in jogging every morning and eat healthy food more than 25 years. Finally, the personality could be changed. A news I read before is about a pair of twins in different circumstances. One of them was sent to a wealthy home and became optimistic and ambitious after the adult; the other in a divorced family, on the contrary, was pessimistic and unsocial. The fact is that although they had the same DNA, the totally opposite circumstances led to the totally opposite results.
All in all, there many factors influence early human development, but obviously we are affected more by outside environment. Therefore, by maximum using surrounding resources, we could improve ourselves to be more suitable for the changing society.
